New Look – Responsive Web Design

PriceMe has a new look-and-feel as of today, and the team is really excited to offer our users an upgraded site.

The new site is fully responsive and adapts to the width of device, making PriceMe more appealing to mobile users by improving speed and usability for smart phone and tablet users. Mobile users constitute around 35% of overall users.

Our goal has been to keep the site experience unchanged for desktop users, while optimising it for mobile ones.

The responsive UI is built using Twitter’s Bootstrap 3.0 framework, which made it easy for the development team to get started and to deliver results in a short period of time.

Visible changes:

– Simplified home page focusing on product search and navigation. We have emphasised the search box, since many users visit the PriceMe home page in order to quickly find a product or category.

– Dropped the leaderboard ad at the top in order to move more relevant content above the fold.

– More emphasis on the breadcrumb for navigation.

– Larger buttons for mobile users.

Known issues that we’re currently working on:

– Some pages and functions have issues in Internet Explorer 8, which doesn’t support HTML 5.

– Some buttons look weird when rendered by the Safari browser.

– Many other UI issues.

Please check out the new version and let us know what you think. We’re grateful if you could report bugs directly to us as we’re committed to improving the site and would love to hear your feedback.

Thanks,

The PriceMe Team
