Huge Demand for Easter Sales Online

On the 14th May 2014 Statistics New Zealand reported that there had been a rise in retail spending in the first quarter of 2014. In this report Statistics New Zealand said that after adjusting for seasonal effects, the volume of retail trade sales rose 0.7 percent in the March 2014 quarter following a rise of 1.4 percent the previous quarter.
The value of total retail sales was $18.3 billion in the March 2014 quarter, up 3.4 percent compared with the March 2013 quarter with the largest increase seen in electrical and electric goods.
PriceMe has also recorded an increase in demand during the first quarter of 2014 compared with the same period in 2013 with an uplift of 8%. The second quarter of 2014 has also started off strong with a 20% increase in visits to retailers websites during the Easter weekend (Good Friday to Easter Monday inclusive) compared with the Easter weekend in 2013. This huge increase further supports the trend towards online shopping and the need for retailers to have strong ecommerce websites to support their bricks and mortar stores.Easter Sales On PriceMe
